The Prachi Sanskrutika Samiti on Wednesday demanded immediate closure of the tollgate at Rahis Patna on the Bhubaneswar-Puri national highway.
“The toll fee being collected at the gate from buses and personal vehicles will have impact on thousands of people who are commuting on the route from the Astarang, Kakatpur, Gop and Konark areas daily in order to earn their livings at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Hence, the gate should be closed at the earliest,” demanded samiti president Er Jagabandhu Sarangi in a statement. He also informed that the samiti would support the proposed cease-work agitation on Sept 22 in the above areas. He said the NHAI would be informed about the demand very soon.
