A State level function of the Nabard on its 40th Foundation Day was attended by Collector Saroj Kumar Mishra at Rayagada as the chief guest. The function which was held from the Raj Bhavan premises connected with all district Collectors online. Amongst the other dignitaries present were LDM Dhirendra Bihari and DDM, Nabard Santosh Kumar Samal. On the occasion, Nilakantha Bania, a farmer who had played a significant role in Nabard’s watershed programme, was felicitated by Collector Mishra. Bania was among 30 such individuals who were facilitated from each of the district of Odisha. During the programme, Mishra also appreciated the efforts made by Nabard in various areas of the district, like strengthening the rural infrastructure, providing sustainable livelihood for the SHG members, potable water for irrigation, promotion of Farmers Producers Companies to name a few. He expressed his good wishes to Nabard on the journey of 40 years and hoped that the bank wpuld achieve many more milestones in coming years.
