Due to the rising Covid-19 cases, the Rayagada district administration on Thursday suspended all public transport bus services, including that of the OSRTC, to Ganjam district and Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
Besides, entry of travellers from the Ganjam has been prohibited except for thoroughfares to other districts and essential services. Any person visiting Rayagada from Ganjam would take prior approval of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Gunupur, Rayagada.
Any person found contravening this provision would be put into institutional quarantine in Rayagada district for a minimum of seven days with food at own cost.
The order further said Tehsildars as ‘Incident Commanders’ would ensure its implementation by getting information from the Covid Management Committee or from any other sources.
Government official including contractual employees in Rayagada district shall not leave for Ganjam on private or official ground without prior approval of the Rayagada Collector processed through PD, DRDA-cum-Covid Nodal Officer in e-mail only.
Vehicles related to medical, goods, agricultural, industrial operations as well as thoroughfares thorough Rayagada would be exempted from the restrictions, the order mentioned.
