Quota row: Vigilance seeks info from BDA

Published on:

A day after Vigilance sleuths visited the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) office to begin its probe into the illegal allotment of plots, houses and flats under the Discretionary Quota (DQ) by the CDA, the investigating agency has sought information from the Bhubaneswar Development Authority in this connection also.

BDA Public Relations Officer Madhumita Rath said they have received letter from the Vigilance department seeking information on allotment of plots, houses and flats under DQ.

“Following the Vigilance communiqué we have asked all the concerned Section Officers to prepare a list of allottees as per the desire of the investigating agency. Since it is a very huge list we would take some time for submission,” added Rath.

It is noted that following the Dr Taradatt-headed Taskforce report, the State Government has decided to cancel around 6,000 irregular allotment of houses and plots in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack since January 1, 1995 and entrusted Vigilance to probe the irregularities.
