While the Gajapati district administration is making all possible efforts to check further spread of Covid infection, in rural areas of the district quacks impersonating as doctors are running a parallel heath care system, fooling people in the name of treatment. It is learnt that some Bangladeshi quacks have infiltrated into remote areas of Mohana block and opened clinics, where innocent tribals are being cheated with fake medicines and injections. While the Government has a plethora of schemes meant for rural people through the National Rural Health Mission and ICDS and other health interventions, these are not actually reaching people through health workers. That’s the reason the quacks have taken advantage. Even, quacks claim that police and other Government officials are coming to them for treatment.
