The chit fund companies have returned in a new Avatar to Odisha. Like dengue, unregulated private finance companies have mushroomed in the State. These companies are flouting the Resave Bank of India guidelines. But unfortunately, the State Government is promoting them, alleged the BJP on Wednesday.
The private companies are holding meeting in the villages are giving loans to women. When the women are not able to pay their loans they are mentally harassing and humiliating them and forcing them to commit suicide. In the current week due to the private finance companies five persons have died and lakhs of rupees are being embezzled, alleged BJP State general secretary Lekhashri Samantsinghar.
The State Government should frame guidelines for the private finance and provide compensation of Rs 20 lakh each to families of the deceased who died due to the harassment by these companies, demanded Samantsinghar.
