The Private Bus Owners’ Association of Odisha on Sunday called for a bus strike from December 1 protesting against plying of the JNNURM buses outside the cities.
The association demanded that plying of city buses should be allowed to run within the cities but they should not carry passengers from one city to another.
Besides, the association has also decided to protest the State Government’s tax hike decision. At present, the JNNURM buses are running in and between major cities, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri, of the State.
