The District Headquarters Hospital witnessed a pandemonium as the driver of a private ambulance chased a pharmacist  and attendant of an 108 Ambulance on Sunday evening over professional grudge. Reports said the 108 Government run ambulance while  bringing  a patient  from his home, its crew was attacked by one Debasish Mukhi (22), a driver of a private ambulance. Mukhi after heated altercations with pharmacist Sashikanta Das and attendant Diptiranjan Upadhay engaged in the Government ambulance chased the duo with a sharp knife asking why they picked the patient  and he lost a  fare.

Although Das and Upadhay could manage to escape, enraged Mukhi damaged  the 108 Ambulance. Not only did he brake the glass of the ambulance with a sharp knife he also cut the tyres. The incident took place in presence  of the private security personnel deployed in the DHH. Although a few onlookers could manage to overpower Mukhi yet he escaped throwing the knife on the spot.

It may be noted, the DHH has a police outpost in the campus and  fighting and quarrelling among the drivers about patients are the order of the day. The police after seizing the knife registered a case and  began a manhunt for Mukhi.
