Criminals on Monday dared the police by killing a motorcycle rider and escaping with his bike in broad daylight. According to reports, while a youth was on his way to Brahmagiri Bazar at about 11 am, two persons waylaid him near a cinema hall and attacked him with sharp weapons. They snatched his bike and fled while locals rushed him to the Kerandia hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead.
The victim was identified as Ghanashyam Parida, a tractor driver of Bedhasundarpur under the Brahmagiri police station. The Brahmagiri police registered a case of murder and sent the body to the District Headquarters Hospital here for postmortem.Irate villagers staged a Rasta Roko near Kerandia along the Puri-Satpara NH demanding arrest of the murderers.
