Vigilance officers on Thursday arrested and court-forwarded Puri Wildlife ACF Prasant Kumar Swain on the charge of accumulating assets worth Rs 76,01,604 dispoportionate to his known sources of income.
On Wednesday, Vigilance officers had conducted raids on his office room and houses at different places in the State and detected assets worth Rs 1,16,27,938 possessed by him and his family members.
Officers had searched his triple-storied building at Bhubaneswar, rented house at Puri, parental house at Sisilo under Balianta police station in Khordha, a relative’s house at Dhenkanal and his office room at Puri.
After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Swain was calculated. He could not account for assets worth 76,01,604 satisfactorily, an official release said.
