The Puri Municipality put the collection of user fee from the residents on hold after huge protests on Tuesday. Till further decision, the user fee collection will be kept in abeyance, said Executive Officer Saroj Swain.Swain clarified that the outfits opposing the fee would have a meeting with district Collector in coming days, after which a decision would be taken. Notably, on November 8, as many as 20 organisations besides individuals, had given a memorandum to Collector Samarth Verma against user fee.
