The train coach arson case will be shifted to the Bhubaneswar District and Sessions Court and accused Ramachandra Subhas would also be shifted from Puri Jail to the Jharpada jail.
Puri Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Priyaranjan Barik passed an order to this effect on Thursday. Earlier, NIA Investigating Officer Prasant Kumar had filed a petition in the Khurda District and Sessions Court seeking transfer of the case from Puri to Khordha. The court considering the petition had directed the SDJM Puri to consider the case. The NIA had filed a petition with the SDJM Puri in this regard. On November 12 last, about six sleeper coaches of three express trains were set on fire while standing at the Puri railway station. The Government Railway Police had registered a criminal case and arrested Ramchandran. later during investigation, Ramchandran confessed to have committed the crime and disclosed some terror link to the incident. Apart from GRP, the State police and the RPF had quizzed Ramchandran.
