Several photos, including videos of the Jagannath Temple and the Gundicha Temple here, went viral on social media on Sunday, raising serious questions on the alertness of the Puri police.
A youth, named Som Modak, of Bardhaman district in West Bengal has put out the photos and videos on his Facebook account.
Modak has uploaded a documentary movie of the Jagannath Temple and photos of the Gundicha Temple. Pictures of several monuments like the Aruna Stambha (Sun Pillar) and the Garbha Gruha (Sanctum Sanctorum) of the Jagannath Temple are up on social sites.
Some Facebook handlers have reprimanded Modak for uploading the videos breaching and some others have warned him to file a criminal case.
The Puri police have come under public scanner as photos of the Shreemandir are going viral repeatedly despite a police station is in place especially for temple security, In last six months, multiple incidences have happened though taking pictures of the temple premises is banned.
