The repair work of the Jagamohan (the hall facing sanctum sanctorum) of the Shree Jagannath Temple at Puri would begin from the first week of December after the holy Odia month of Kartika.
This was informed by law Minister Arun Sahoo after holding a meeting with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief and top officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) here at the State Secretariat on Tuesday.
Sahoo said the work would take at least six months for completion, for which the deities of the temple would not be shifted.
A team of representative comprising the Works Department Secretary, ASI officials and SJTA Chief Administrator would meet the ASI DG in the second week of October and discuss about the repair work, said the Minister.
