On the occasion of Basant Panchami on Monday, the 25th year completion of Srimad Jagadguru Swami Nischalana-nda Saraswati as Sankaracharya of Puri Govardhan Peeth was celebrated in a grand way as Pattabhishek Mahotsav here in the presence of Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.
Finance Minister Sashibhusan Behera, former BJP MlA Pratap Sarangi and former PCC president Niranjan Pattnaik revered saints Swami Sivchidananda, Swami Sachidananda and other dignitaries, who attended as guests and spoke on the occasion.
A ‘Jagran Yatra’ would be taken out throughout the year in the 16 Sasanas of the State. A seminar would also be held at the Govardhan Peeth in Puri on February 9 and 10.
Different competitions and seminars would be held in different schools of the State during the Yatra with an aim for good of the world. Nischal-ananda Saraswati is the 145th Sankaracharya of the Govar-dhan Peeth and he was seated as the Sankaracharya in 1992.
