The main accused in arson at the Puri railway station, Ramchandran Subhas, was remanded to judicial custody after his six-day remand ended on Monday.
“Currently, we cannot say anything as the investigation is in progress. We expect to find some information after further investigation,” said Puri GRP DSP Devendra Kumar Das.
On Saturday, the Puri Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court had allowed the railway police to conduct a polygraph test of Subhas.
Public prosecutor Satyajit Sadangi said, “The accused is changing his statements frequently, which is why a polygraph test has become necessary. The court has given permission to the railway police to conduct a polygraph test as per the guidelines.”
Subhas has been interrogated by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel from Mugalsarai, Gaya and West Bengal.
Notably, a major fire broke out at the Puri railway station on November 3, in which at least five bogies of three empty stationary trains were damaged one after the other.
