Ahead of the annual Rath Yatra, the State Government and particularly the Puri district administration are in a fix after the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has reported that the Samajajpur railway over-bridge built during the Nabakalebar Rath Yatra last year may collapse at any moment.
The NHAI has submitted a report to the the Puri Collector-cum-District Magistrate in this regard.
After getting the reports on
precarious condition of railway over-bridge the Collector has directed the NHAI to make alternative arrangement as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Puri MlA and Nabakalebar Infrastructure Committee Chairman Maheswar Mohanty demanded an inquiry into the issue.
