The Puri police on Saturday claimed to have achieved a breakthrough in the murder case of lawyer laxmidhara Mohapatra and arrested two youths allegedly involved in the incident.
The duo was identified as Jyoti Shankar and his associate Babula. Speaking to reporters, Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi said, “We have arrested the main accused and his aide in the case. The vehicle and weapon of offence, used in the murder, have been seized from the accused.
Mohapatra was killed at a filling station while re-fuelling his vehicle at Hospital Square here on Wednesday evening. The attackers had followed Mohapatra and attacked him with an iron rod.
The lawyer was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital here with grievous injuries and was later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar where the doctors declared him brought dead.
