The Vigilance police on Tuesday caught Sakhigopal Section-II Junior Engineer (JE) Bighnaraj Mohanty and Indipur fuse call office Lineman Debi Prasad Nayak red-handed for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 5,000.
The duo were caught taking the bribe from complainant Suresha Chandra Das of Dhanakera village in Puri district for enhancement power of his electric consumption to his house following installation of Air-conditioner (AC) by the complainant.
Rented residential house of the JE at Nayagarh town was searched. The accused persons were arrested and forwarded to court.
