The State Tourism Department has issued an instruction to all hotels, lodges, mutts and holiday homes here to verify identities of the visitors who check in.Besides, they have been told to forward their names and addresses etc to the relevant police station for verification.
The Hotel Owners’ Association of Puri has welcomed the decision and proposed for introduction of CC cameras in all hotels and guest houses. However, a section of Sevayats has criticised the introduction of photo identity card for all servitors of the Shree Jagannath Temple.
