Acting on an allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets, Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on the houses of two Government officials in Bhubaneswar, Puri and Ganjam.
Several teams of Vigilance officials conducted the search operations at the office and residences of Puri PWD Assistant Engineer Krushna Chandra Mallik at five places in the State on charges
of accumulation of
properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The anti-graft body calculated the property of Mallik at Rs 1,05,61,230. His four-storied house located at Sailashree Vihar in Bhubaneswar costs around Rs 57, 86,296.
A number of Vigilance teams also conducted searches in his house in the Nandankanan area and his office and quarters in Puri district.
In yet another operation, Vigilance sleuths conducted raids at the residence of Patrapur Small Irrigation Assistant Engineer Anirudh Sethi’s residence and five other places in Ganjam district.
The teams also raided the house of Sethi’s brother-in-law’s residence and his business partner’s house.
