A woman (23), while being sent to Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh from here after being allegedly sold at `1.15 lakh, escaped from the clutch of the broker and ran to the Sadar Police Station from the Puri railway station seeking help of the police on Thursday.
The Sadar Police transferred the case to the Kumbharapada Police Station. The Kumbharapada police amicably settled the issue and handed over the woman to her parents.
later, the woman was allowed to go with the broker as the latter assured to marry her at Jhansi.
The family resides in Sidhamahaveer area. No case was registered.
