A ‘Vision-2020’ charter was released by Puri Congress lok Sabha candidate Sucharita Mohanty at a Press conference here on Saturday.

The seven-point charter promises to initiate steps for capacity building of women and their empowerment, execution of special projects for skill development of youths and to generate well-paid jobs for them, a special thrust on development of agro-economy to uplift the farmers from distress and lead them to prosperity.

Mohanty said years of misrule and lawlessness have destroyed the rural economy and the poor has become poorer in Odisha. Women are not safe. To ward off the misrule the electorate should drive out the State’s ineffective and corrupt leadership. “The mission has started from today,” she announced.

In whirlwind tours of all the seven Assembly segments under the Puri lS constituency, Mohanty participated in workers’ meetings at various places and was hopeful to carry all sections of Congress workers along with her to accomplish her mission.

Inspired by her late father former Union Minister Brajamohan Mohanty, she said people love her and followers of her father have come forward to help her fight the poll battle.

She announced some special measures to be undertaken to transform this tourist city into a global tourist hub. The Puri economy which mostly depends on the earning from the hospitality industry is likely to grow more from these projects, she said. She appealed to the electorate to join her in the mission and extend their support.
