Hundreds of district Congress workers led by former Puri MlA Umaballav Rath on Monday staged a demonstration in front of the district Collector’s office.
They shouted slogans against the Chit Fund Commission head and retired High Court Justice MM Das for his alleged statement supporting the Government at the cost of the thousands of duped investors.
They organised a meeting in front of the Collector’s office wherein many local Congress leaders addressed. later, they submitted a memorandum to the Collector.
In the memorandum, they pointed out that Justice Das after participating in the ruling party and making adverse comment had no right to hold the office and the State Government should remove him at the earliest.
