The Executive Engineer (Roads & Buildings) gave fitness certificates for the three chariots, Nandighosh of lord Jagannath, Taladhwaja of lord Balabhadra and Darapadalan of Devi Subhadra, on Saturday, the day before they rolled on the Badadanda at Puri.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had deposited Rs50 through a treasury challan in the Executive Engineer’s office to get these certificates, sources said.
The certificates are given every year after taking the gigantic structure, weight and nature of movement of the Raths into consideration, sources added.
