The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to implement the Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train service between Puri-Angul, Jharsuguda-Sambalpur, Rourkela-Jharsuguda and started the MEMU train between Sambalpur and Rourkela.
The 68421/68422 Angul-Puri-Angul MEMU train, new rake made by the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, between Puri and Angul would replace 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger from July 10.
The train would run as per the timings of 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger except on Monday from Puri and on Tuesday from Angul. This would be the second MEMU train to run in the region.
Similarly, 78103/78104 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) passenger was replaced with 68027/68028 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU train on Monday.
The 68027 Rourkela-Sambalpur MEMU would leave Rourkela at 0720hrs and would arrive at Sambalpur at 1045hrs. In the return direction, 68028 Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU would leave Sambalpur at 1110hrs and would arrive at Rourkela at 1445hrs.
Apart from this, the Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Jharsuguda passenger would be replaced with Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Jharsuguda MEMU and the Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Rourkela passenger would replace by Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Rourkela MEMU.
