Puri admn on toes as Prez’s shrine visit tomorrow

Ahead of the visit of President Drouapadi Murmu to the Jagannath Temple here on November 10, the Puri administration is on its toes to make the event a grand success. Since the visit is solely aimed at pilgrimage, so the shrine administration is busy in its preparations for a grand welcome to the President, who also belongs to Odisha.

After landing in Bhubaneswar airport, Murmu will straightway move to Puri. She will spend for more than an hour in the Jagannath Temple, where she would have a darshan of the holy Trinity atop the Ratnasinghasan, the bejewelled throne.

Besides, she will visit the sub-shrines in the premises guided by her ancestral Panda. Uptake of the sacred Abadha as lunch inside the famous Anand Bazar is also in the visit menu.

On the way to Puri Raj Bhaban, the President has a brief programme at the Lions Gate, where she will offer floral tributes to the statue of Utkalmani Gopabandhu.

Though every tidbit of visit chart is confidential on security ground, yet it is a tradition that the President will be signing the visit book of her ancestral Panda and will offer him Dhakshina, what her predecessors have done during their temple visits. Besides, the President might donate to the temple Hundi as mark of her generosity.

After rest in the Raj Bhavan, she is scheduled to fly back to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.
