Even as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating into the money laundering of Archana Nag and her husband Jagabandhu Chand, Bargarh BJP MP Suresh Pujari on Thursday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the matter.
Raising the issue in Parliament, Pujari said the sensational honey-trap and money laundering case has been grabbing the headlines in Odisha leading to the arrest of the alleged kingpin and others.
The ED, probing the financial money laundering aspect, has taken the prime accused and others on remand.
According to Pujari, several prominent political leaders, besides businessmen, film producers, realtors, bureaucrats and police officials were honey-trapped by Archana, who was allegedly running a high-profile sex racket to please wealthy and influential people.
“The voters would start losing faith in politicians and bureaucrats, thereby causing harm to the democratic system itself unless a thorough investigation is conducted by a competent agency like the CBI and all the culprits are nabbed and tried by a fast track court,” said Pujari.
