Former BJP State president Suresh Pujari, who is now contesting as the party’s candidate from the Sambalpur lok Sabha seat, has gone a step ahead, releasing an election manifesto of his own to suit the requirements of the constituency and its people. “This is perhaps the first of its kind in the State,” claimed Pujari at a Press meet here on Tuesday.
BJP State in-charge Arun Singh released the manifesto in the presence of the other senior leaders, including Sambalpur Assembly seat candidate Jayanarayan Mishra and Rengali Assembly nominee Nauri Naik. Pujari said the BJP has its manifesto for the entire nation. But local necessities vary from place to place. “This tempted to me for a separate manifesto that can fulfil the aspirations of our local people,” he said.
“The manifesto comprises nine points that cover the local problems and necessities. After completion of a year, a review of the performance will also be made to assess the achievement of the elected representative,” he said. Priority to agriculture and farmers, education, health services, employment, drinking water, infrastructure development, resettlement and rehabilitation issues, delivery system and the issue of a permanent High Court Bench are the points that find place in Pujari’s personal manifesto.
He promised to make a review of the annual performance on these issues to ensure that all are implemented in letter and spirit. He further said that the entire nation and the youth mass in particular want Modi as the next Prime Minister. And that is going to really happen as enthusiasm runs high in Modi’s favour among all sections of people, he added.
