A public hearing for a 20 MW power plant of Rungta Sponge situated at Karakola village under Joda block was held in Karakola village on Thursday.
At the outset, Senior GM (Commercial) of Rungta Pranaya Kumar Dey read out the project report of the proposed power plant and then villagers one by one totalling 37 opined in support of the plant, but they at the same time demanded that the company should look after CSR activities like drinking water, health, communication and pollution control etc. Additional GM (works) of Rungta Charan Kumar Jena agreed to fulfill the demands.
ADM Dr Bhaktabandhu Pradhan who presided over the meeting declared that the public hearing was successful. Regional Pollution Control Officer, Keonjhar, Pushpendru Kumar Behera coordinated. Among others who were present included Joint VP (HR and Admn) R Agrawalla, AVP(logistic) RP Singh, ( DGM,HR) BR Dash, DGM(HR and CSR) lN Rout.
