Public entry to Lingaraj Temple banned

In view of the soaring Covid-19 cases in the capital city, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday restricted public entry into the Lingaraj Temple.

The decision was taken after four sevayats of the temple tested positive. Notably, the samples of 60 sevayats were collected and tested on Saturday. The civic body further directed the temple administration to ensure that the temple remains open for usual rituals only.

Also, the Lingaraj Temple administration would organise the Ashokastami Car Festival amid restrictions issued by the BMC.
