The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court here on Tuesday asked the State Government to provide all treatment facilities to Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in the Brahmapur Circle Jail.
Admitting a petition filed by Sabyasachi’s counsel Dipak Patnaik, SDJM Judge Pradip Kumar Behera issued an order asking the State Government to entrust a team of psychiatrists and medicine specialist the treatment of Sabyasachi.
The court also asked the jail authorities to conduct all diagnostic and pathological tests of Panda in the MKCG Medical College Hospital and other Government hospitals instead of private nursing homes. In the meantime, the State Government has decided to bear the expenses towards the Maoist leader’s treatment, sources said.
