To ensure free treatment for all Covid and non-Covid patients, the Government should declare a health emergency and collect a special cess from capitalist class and superrich, demanded the Navnirman Krushak Sangathan on Monday.
Addressing a Press conference here, Sangathan national convenor Akshay Kumar lambasted the Government’s claim of heightened health facilities, saying people are dying due to shortage of oxygen and many Covid and non-Covid patients are not getting minimum healthcare. “When the Government assured that every life is important then comes the responsibility of a welfare State to ensure lives of all; why this discrimination,” asked Kumar.
The Sangathan demanded that the Government announce free treatment for all, including non-Covid patients, Schools and colleges be acquired to convert them as temporary medical centres and educated unemployed be trained and appointed as health workers.
Among others, Sangathan leaders Seshadev Nanda, Umakant Bharat and Rashmi Ranjan Swain were present.
