Hundreds of villagers from Chatara village here on Sunday resorted to a road blockade at Hospital Chhak on Cuttack- Machhagaon NH 55 demanding compensation to kin of a deceased 4-year-old child and action against a doctor for negligence in treatment.
Reports said that the child after being rescued in a drowning case was admitted in the District Headquarters Hospital here on Sunday morning but he was declared brought dead by the doctor.
Meanwhile, taking back the body to the village, his kin felt that he was alive and they rushed back to the DHH but the doctor did not respond and consequently, the child died, deceased’s mother alleged.
Soon after the incident, hundreds of villagers rushed to the hospital and resorted to a road blockade keeping the body on road. Later, the local police and Magistrate reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
