The Nimapara-Gop Naba Nirman Parishad led by its president Dillip Nayak took out a protest rally and held a demonstration in front of the Nimapara tehsil office on Friday.
later, it handed over a memorandum to the tehsildar addressing it to the Chief Minister. The Parishad demanded action against the people behind huge irregularities in housing, old age pension, Swachh Bharat toilet, ration card distribution schemes in Nimapara and Gop blocks.
It alleged that 12 to 15 per cent PC is collected in MlA and MP lADs, besides irregularities in co-operative bank loans, agriculture, horticulture schemes, tender fixing in PWD, RD and drainage division.
Over 7,000 people gathered. Among others, Pravat Ray, Ajay Bhoi, Bhagirathi Rout, Niranjan Mohapatra, Bimalendu Swain, Akshaya Nayak, Niharranjan Pradhan, Ramachandra Sahoo, Sandhyarani Senapati and Pradipta Nayak were present.
