The Odisha Jalsuraksha Janmanch on Saturday said it would stage demonstration in front of the Jagatsinghpur Collectorate on June 30 in protest against the State Government’s proposal to give Hansua and Mahanadi river water to Posco.
In a Press release, Manch president Akshay Das said, “The Manch would not allow a single drop of water of Hansua and Mahanadi rivers for Posco at the cost of hundreds of farmers in Jagatsinghpur district.”“While farmers are crying for water in the district for farming to earn their livelihood in the district, the Government’s move to provide Hansua water to Posco is anti-poor and arbitrary,” said Manch secretary Biswabasu Das.
