Tension prevailed in front of the Chhendipada Forest Range office in Angul district when angry locals on Saturday staged a protest over the death of a 13-year-old boy by a wild elephant on Friday.

Demanding compensation to the boy’s family, over a hundred people, including family members of the deceased, sat on a dharna from 9 am.

Later, Srikant was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital here while Chandan was shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Later, Srikant died while being further shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.
