Protest against evictions, police action in Brahmapur

Members of CPI (Ml)-affiliated New Democracy Odisha Pradeshik Committee led by spokesperson Bhalachandra Shadangi held a demonstration here on Friday and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the RDC (Southern Division) protesting forceful eviction under pretext of industrialisation and police atrocities on innocent farmers and tribals.  

The CPI (Ml) and a few affiliated outfits also observed demonstration against forceful eviction and police atrocities in Balangir and Jagasinghpur districts.

The agitators chanted slogans against the Government and demanded immediate release of all arrested persons and withdrawal of police forces deployed in the lower Suktel Project site in Balangir and Posco project site at Dhinkia-Govindpur in Jagatsinghpur district.
