The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), a premier trade body representing the Indian Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry, is providing support to the Odisha Government for setting up the first greenfield Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at the Info-valley here.
This is being implemented under the Electronic Manufacturing Clusters scheme of the Union Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).
The proposed EMC cluster, located at Harapur, Gaudakasipur and Durgapur villages of Khordha district, is expected to house over 100 electronics manufacturing units. The project has an employment potential of 10,000 - 12,000 jobs, which will be a mix of skilled and semi-skilled personnel. The cost of the project is estimated at `209.64 crore.
IDCO CMD Vishal Kumar Dev said that the sector has tremendous potential in the State as per the strategic roadmap for the ESDM sector submitted by the IESA. Both IDCO and Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) are lending admirable support for the project.
