Property dispute: Old woman killed in Sambalpur

Published on:

Unknown miscreants brutally killed a 60-year-old woman, Sakuntala Pansari, in Khetrajpur, the business hub of Sambalpur district on Saturday night.

The deceased belonged to a business family and her husband Sawarmal Pansari is physically-disabled. They have no children. The woman used to run a small wheat grinding mill in Khetrajpur and her husband has a shop in Bareipali. The husband was out of the house when the incident took place.

The wheat mill was in a running condition when the miscreants killed the woman by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon. The murder might have taken place for property matters, the police suspected from the initial stage as the total valuables inside the house including gold remained untouched. “We are hopeful of nabbing the culprits soon,” informed the IIC of Khetrajpur PS Kamal lochan Bhuyan.
