The Manav Adhikar Surakhya Manch Ghanta Yatra (cymbal beating rally) demanding proper implementation of health schemes and permanent solution to the problems of the MKCG Medical College Hospital entered its 108th phase here on Monday.

The Manch submitted a memorandum to the hospital authorities addressed to Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das demanding functioning of the super-specialty departments, providing 10 dialysis machines in Nephrology Department, opening a Geriatric Department for senior citizens.

The members also demanded providing all medicines in the Niaramaya centre, constructing houses for patients’ attendants and abolishing the number system in CT scan, ultrasound, MRI and other tests and identifying the middlemen in the hospital and taking strict action against them.

Manch coordinator Abani Kumar Gaya said it is high time that the hospital was made free of middlemen; and if the Government does not take any steps on the demands, the Manch would intensify its agitation.
