Several youths of Khordha district have alleged of being duped to the tune of lakhs of rupees by a person who had promised them to provide jobs at the Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The youths have lodged a complaint in this regard with the Singhadwar police after they came to know about the scam on visiting the temple office.
As per the allegations, a person identifying himself as an employee of the temple administration collected the money from the youths on the pretext of giving them jobs in the temple.
The accused had also given the victims joining letters, which bore fake stamp of the temple administration authorities. As the youths reached the office of the temple administration, they became aware of the fraud and lodged the police complaint.
