In a shocking incident, the guardians and parents of the Phulupatana Primary School under Balikuda block have levelled sexual harassment allegations against the headmaster and a woman para teacher of the school.
The accused were identified as Mayadhar Rout (HM) and his woman colleague para teacher Runisarani Das.
According to a complaint lodged at Balikuda police station on Tuesday, the victim students’ guardians have alleged that the school headmaster was giving lewd remarks and sexual harassment to a few class 4 and class 5 girl students regularly, in spite of complaints lodged with the block education officer (BEO). The woman teacher was abetting the crime. Yet no action had been taken against the duo.
The irate guardians had locked the primary school on Tuesday; later the police and a Magistrate reached at the spot and persuaded the parents of the victim students and assured that action would be taken promptly on their allegations.
Meanwhile, the police have started a probe. Balikuda police station IIC Ranjit Prusty and SDPO Sujogya Mishra on Tuesday interrogated the victim students and the accused woman para teacher but the prime accused was yet to be grilled since he has been on leave, informed SDPO Mishra.
