The Puri Railway Protection Force (RPF), probing the train burning issue at the Puri railway station, on Monday claimed to have collected important clues from CCTV footage at the station and said the arrested Tamil Nadu resident was the main culprit in the mishap.

The RPF officials have got clues about the train burning network which extends from Kolkata to Chennai.

Besides the arrested Tamil Nadu man Ramachandran Subhas, the investigating agency believed that many others are there in Kolkata and Tamil Nadu who were involved in the crime directly and indirectly.

Meanwhile, the Puri Government Railway Police (GRP), who has rounded up Ramachandran on the mishap day on Thursday last week from the railway station premises and seized a knife, blade and match box from his possession, has sought 10 more days of his remand from a local court for further interrogation to extract more information from him.

The RPF had detained two persons on the suspicion of their complicity in the fire accident and interrogated them besides examining the CCTV footages to ascertain the exact reason of the mishap. However, the two detainees were freed later. The investigating agency was also looking into the mishap from all angles.

Five bogies, two each of Nandankanan Express and Tirupati Express and one coach of Puri-Howrah Express, were damaged as fire broke out in these trains.
