Newly-appointed All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is likely to visit Koraput district in February.
The date of her visit to the State would soon be finalised, said Congress leader and Opposition Chief Whip in the Assembly Tara Prasad Bahinipati, who is MLA of Jeypore in Koraput district.
Speaking to reporters, Bahinipati said, “The date of Priyanka Gandhi’s visit is going to be finalised soon. She will attend a public meeting in Koraput on the day. I had requested AICC president Rahul Gandhi and held discussion with party Odisha in-charge Jitendra Singh about Priyanka Gandhi’s visit.”
In another political development, BJP national president Amit Shah, who visited the State on January 29, is also scheduled will come to Puri on February 3 to attend a national-level tribal convention, said BJP Odisha in-charge Arun Singh.
