The All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association (AOPBOA)on Wednesday called off its proposed indefinite bus bandh, which was scheduled to be held from October 7 .
The AOPBOA took this decision following ill-fated ‘Maharaja’ bus owner Rushav Kumar Tripathy was granted bail. The bus had fallen off a bridge at Puruna Manitri near Athmallick, killing 19 persons and leaving about 30 persons injured in September.
Rushav was arrested on September 23 and had been in jail custody since then. He was granted bail by the Angul District and Sessions Judge Court on Tuesday. The bus owner as claimed by the AOPBOA was arrested despite having all valid documents of the vehicle.
