'Priority to student blood donors in college admission'

Students who donate blood twice a year will be given priority during admissions in college level,” said Higher Education Minister and Youth Red Cross (YRC) State Working Committee Chairman Pradeep Panigrahy. Chairing State working committee meeting of YRC, Odisha unit Panigrahy on Saturday said only youth volunteers can ensure 100% blood donation in meeting requirement.

Panigrahy also asked the Higher Education Director present on the occasion to ensure that the voluntary blood donation camps must be organised under the aegis of YRC in all colleges across the State.YRC Secretary Dr Chakradhar Panda laid emphasis on the initiatives to be taken for the capacity building of the volunteers. He also urged the volunteers to extend support for smooth conduct of the ensuing Rath Yatra. Higher Education Secretary Gagan Kumar Dhal, CHSE Chairman Prof Basudev Chhatoi among many others attended the meeting.
