The prime accused in the sweet stall owner murder case surrendered before the Bhubaneswar Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court on Thursday.

A police official said Raj Kumar Behera surrendered fearing a police encounter. Preliminary investigation shows Behera was the conspirator behind murder. Police would move court to take him on remand for questioning.

Notably, on October 4, two bike-borne persons armed with a sharp weapon had chased sweet stall owner Prabhakar Sahu alias Jambu and hacked him to death near Samantarapur Chhak in broad daylight.
