The Marshaghai police on Thursday arrested and court-forwarded Naresh Sethy (33) of Dumuka village, the prime accused in the Babu Sethy murder case. Police also seized a pistol and four live cartridges from his possession.
Babu had died on October 18 after some motorbike-borne youths, stated to be the gang members of litu, fired bullet at him near Banamali chowk on Silipur- Marshaghai road, informed Marshaghai PS IIC Sukant Kumar Patra.
According to Patra, Babu was working with Naresh Sethy in sand lifting business. When Babu Sethy didn’t pay dues of Rs2 lakh, Naresh gave supari of Rs1 lakh to litu to kill Babu. Then litu along with his associates made a plan and gunned down Babu. Notably, the Marshaghai police had earlier arrested three persons in connection with the case.
