The Commissionerate police have arrested the prime accused involved in the murder of a youth in Jobra area of the city on Sunday.
Prime accused Biswaranjan Mohanty alias Happy was arrested on Monday, said ACP Trinath Mishra in a Press conference here on Tuesday.
The weapon of offence was seized from his possession. He confessed to his crime during interrogation. Several criminal cases are pending against Happy, said Mishra.
On the other hand, three other accused are still absconding and three police teams have been formed to apprehend them.
Notably, Tapan Nayak of Matia Mangala Sahi in Jobra area had died after being attacked by Happy and his associates with sharp weapons. The incident was fallout of a dispute between the deceased and the accused over fishing at Jobra barrage.
